Default I Believe!

I tend to take for granted the existence of aliens even more so than the existence of ghosts and God etc.

We now know that the universe is full of planets and systems greater and smaller than our own. I find it absolutely incredible to think that we are the only planet to support life.

Life on other planets maybe similar or vastly different to our own but it's life nonetheless. Whether these life forms have visited Earth is the crunch for me. There are so many reports of abductions etc, yet they still remain hidden and silent and all the people discredited by governments who make claims of sights etc - why?

Is there an agreement between aliens and our government? Is it all in the fantasies of the people making the claims? Do they really want to remain hidden from general knowledge and pick off samples as required? Are they just too much to accept so they hold back until a general acceptance can allow them to meet us? Or do they know of the general destructive nature of man and dont want to get into conflict? Many questions and probably thousands more.

Right that's my little bit.

Although I have no issue with the above post, it is interesting to see the link between the argument that space is so big, with unknown numbers of planets that could generate life and even perhaps intelligent life and UFO's reported.

Why do we make this link and continue a myth that UFO sightings are alien craft?

There is no evidence to suggest this is the case.

So while I can accept that statistically it is likely that life has evolved elsewhere, I do struggle in making the leap that connects that with the manefestation of UFO's on this planet.

Personally, I've always wondered about the presence of a UFO thread on a paranormal forum.

From my point of view, statistically it is more than likely that there is life out there, but is this really paranormal?

Kind Regards
Baruc.

I suppose in the respect that up until now, alien life remains unproven and the mysteries surrounding it take it out of the normal category and into the paranormal - as yet unexplainable and unproven.

As soon as they land in Hyde Park, take over Westminster and demand they drink the blood of virgins - making them very much real, we can then consider them no longer paranormal but real, explainable and soon to be normal.

I've recently added a UFO section to my forum as they do spur interesting debates.

Ah, but is this really paranormal?

The very term 'paranormal' means beyond normal - so is the thought that there is life out there really that far fetched?

Agree on the debating front though!

Kind Regards
Baruc.
